The Croft House. Mount Cameron is a luxurious new croft house on the MacKinnon Croft, Cluer. The croft itself has been in the MacKinnon family for over 200 years, in fact you can still see both the stone ruins of the original crofter’s cottage of four generations ago and also the cottage shown below, which is over three generations old and which was in use up until the last decade. The new croft house, built in 1998, is sited on an elevated aspect of the croft and as a result enjoys spectacular and unrestricted views of the local bay, the Minch, Wester Ross and the west coast of the Isle of Syke. The Bedrooms There are two rooms available, master-double or twin. The master double room and twin room are both fully en-suite. Both rooms offer coffee and tea making facilities, television, radio alarm clock and hair driers. Dining & Meals We believe the best way to start an active day is after a good breakfast - At Mount Cameron, we offer a range to suit all tastes, from the the traditional Scottish Breakfast, a selection of breakfast cereals, fresh bread and toast and when available, smoked fish. If required, packed lunches and evening meals can also be catered for on request. The dining room has full length patio doors leading to the garden, with the view facing the North Harris hills.
